Player must complete the campaign/story quest Act 1 Chapter 11 .
Walkthrough[]
Speak to Bamboo Guard Hwang Jinbang to start the quest.[]
Hwang Jinbang: "You're the hero of Bamboo Village! It's wonderful to meet you in person. I've been sent to share some knowledge about weapons. This will definitely help yu the challenges ahead, so listen closely. Some weapons contain sockets, into which you can insert gems. Different gems possess different powers. Once they are combined, the gem's power is transferred to the weapon. This will boost your abilities in different ways. With this practice gem, open the [I] Inventory and press the Manage Equipment button to equip the gem on the weapon."
Open the inventory window and press the Manage Equipment button to equip a gem on a weapon[]
Press the shortcut key for Inventory [I] to open the window and press the Manage Equipment button to equip the gem.
Talk to Bamboo Guard Hwang Jinbang at Whalesong Coast[]
Hwang Jinbang: "Yes, it looks like a perfect fit. All right, now let's remove the gem."
(Gems can be removed?)
Hwang Jinbang: "Of course. If you want to reuse a gem, simply remove it from the socket and insert it into a different weapon. This can all be done from your Inventory [I]. To remove a gem from a socket, drag it into your Inventory or right-click the gem. Confirm that you want to remove it, then you can use the gem again."
Open the inventory window and press the Manage Equipment button to remove the gem you have equipped on the weapon[]
Press the shortcut key for Inventory [I] to open the window and press the Manage Equipment button to unequip the gem or just right-click on the gem.
Talk to Bamboo Guand Hwang Jinbang at Whalesong Cove[]
Hwang Jinbang: "Simple, isn't it? Just be sure to remember these three facts about weapon sockets. Firstly, most weapons with sockets will be sealed when you find them. You must unseal the weapon with the corresponding charm before you can equip or socket it. Second, remember that a weapon can't be socketed with two of the same color of gem. And lastly, keep in mind that removing a gem from socket costs money. Equipping is free, but pulling them out too often will cost you. And that's everything. With these simple facts in mind, you can make your weapons and your skills much stronger. Now get out there and show the enemies of the Bamboo Guard what you learned here today."
